This is the beginning of everything. The moment before form, when something that did not exist is about to.
 
I used gold leaf in this piece deliberately — because there is nothing ordinary about the act of creation. Whether it is a universe, a life, a painting, or a version of yourself you have never been before, creation is sacred. It deserves gold.
 
The gold leaf is applied by hand, which means no two originals will ever catch the light in exactly the same way. This piece is alive in that sense — it changes with the hour, with the room, with the person standing in front of it.
